FRIEDRICH Well Known citizen Succumbs to Long illness - WAS A NATIVE OF GERMANY - C.W.A. Friedrich Passses Away at His Home on Eleventh Street This Afternoon. C. W. A. Friedrich aged 59 years, died at his home, 49 West Eleventh street at 12:15 o'clock this afternoon, following an illness of over a year's duration. Mr. Friedrich closed his career in the same homestead in which he settled when he came to Fond du Lac, where he took his bride after his marriage to Miss. Mary Georg in 1877 and where eleven children were born. Mr. Friedrich was a staunch worker in the Salem's Evangelical church. He took great pride in the church and was instrumental in seeing the present edifice erected. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum, (the male members of his family were members of the Royal Arcanum from Columbia Council, N. 209, the women were members of the Ladies' Axillary Association of Fond du Lac, Court no. 28. - an insurance organization) for thirty years, of the E. F. U., the U. C. T. and the Bagmen of Bagdad. He was also a trustee of Estabrooks cemetery. He was born Jan 22, 1856 in Carzig, Brandenberg, Germany. He came to the U.S. 1869 and settled in Red Wing, MN, In 1873 he moved to Fond du Lac WI, and married Miss Mary Georg in 1877. He took his bride to 49 West Eleventh Street , they had eleven children, seven whom are still living. Besides the widow there are two daughters, Lillian and Viola, both at home; and five sons, Edward B., Louis A., Benjamin E. of this city, George W., of Morris Ill., and Herbert V., of Sheboygan. He also leaves two brothers, F.J. Herman Friedrich and Rev. G.H. Friedrich, both of Milwaukee. Mr. Friedrich was a manufacturer of medicine and in his work as a salesman of his product he became widely and favorably known through the state and northwest, particularly in Marinette and Escanaba where he has many friends. A year ago last fall he was stricken with an illness that was pronounced rarer to be incurable. His decline was steady and this morning a marked change for the worse was apparent and members of his family were summoned to his bedside. Throughout his illness Mr. Friedrich evidenced a spirit of optimism and cheerfulness that was remarkable. His faith in his church and his religion eliminated the fear of death from him and although he knew that he could not recover, not a word of regret, other than that he did not wish to leave his family, escaped him. The Friedrich home has been a synonym for hospitality in the community and the news of Mr. Friedrich's death was productive of deep sympathy. He closed his career in the same homestead in which he settled when he came to Fond du Lac."
