MARY FRIEDRICH, CHARTER MEMBER OF SALEM SOCIETY, IS DEAD Mrs. Mary Katherine Friedrich 78, one of the first members of the Salem Evangelical church and a charter member of the Ladies' Aid society, expired at her residence 49 West Eleventh street, at 11:50 P.M. Monday. Mrs. Friedrich died in the home in which she had lived for 56 years. She had been in poor health for a number of years, her condition becoming worse six weeks ago expired at her residence 49 West Eleventh Street, at 11:50 P.M. Monday. Mary was born in Milwaukee March 26, 1855, ( Nov. 1864 when Mary was four years old her mother, Mary E. and an infant died in childbirth. Her father married Joannah Gundelach 1859 and Mary's first step sister Hannah was born 1860. In 1868 the family moved to Fond du Lac. Mary had three half sisters and brother when they moved to Fond du Lac, two more brothers were born in Fond du Lac. Her father owned a grocery store.) She was thirteen years old when she came to this city. Her marriage to C.W.A. Friedrich at age twenty two was solemnized March 3, 1877, and as a bride she went to live at 49 West Eleventh street. They had eleven children. Mary was one of the first members of Salem Evangelical Church and a charter member of the Ladies' Aid Society . Mrs. Friedrich had been a diligent worker in all the activities of the Salem Evangelical church. She is survived by five sons, Edward, Louis and Ben E. of this city, George of St. cloud and Herbert V. of Sheboygan, two daughters, Mrs. C.E. Woodward and Mrs. B. L. Williams of this city, one brother, William F. George of Los Angeles, two sisters, Mrs. Albert Spielberg of this city and Mrs. Emma Berger of Milwaukee, and eight grandchildren. The body will remain at the Candlish chapel until 3 p. M. Wednesday when it will be removed to the Woodward residence (daughter Lily). Private funeral services for Mrs. Mary Friedrich were held at 1:30 P.M. today from the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.E. Woodward, 106 eight street, and public services at 2 P.M. from the Salem Evangelical church. the casket will not be opened at the church. The Rev. H.C. Dickvoss, pastor, officiated. Burial was at Estabrook cemetery. Musical numbers were given by Mrs. R.E. Ricklefs and Miss Wava Finger. The services at the residence were private. Pallbearers were Rueben Averbeck, Otto Hankwitz, Edward Guell, Robert Roehrdanz, Carl Guell and William Sinske. The services were largely attended and there was a large floral offering. Among those present were Mrs. Emma Berger, Mr. and Mrs. T. Trapp, Miss Gladys Berger, Mrs. J. Gerlach, Mr. and Mrs. F. Bloy and the Misses Edna, Clara and Bertha Friedrich of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Friedrich and family of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. George Friedrich and family of St. Cloud and Mr. and Mrs. B. Dille of Menasha.
