Fond du Lac Commonwealth Reporter 11/18/1940 p. 18

Mrs. Anton Petrie, Sr., 69, of Mt. Calvary died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at her
home. Formerly Mary Abler, she was born Feb. 20, 1871 and was married to
Mr. Petrie, Nov. 24, 1891 in Holy Cross church at Mt. Calvary.  Surviving
are her widower; eight daughters and sons, Mrs. Frank Olig, Mrs. Frank
Schmitz, Mrs. Oscar Stephany and Urban, Rudolph, Roman, Alex and Alfred
Petrie; 30 grandchildren and a brother, Nick Abler, of Calvary.  A son,
Anthony, Jr., died June 17, 1937.  Mrs. Petrie was a member of the
Christian Mothers’ society of Holy Cross church and of the Third Order of
St. Francis.  Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the
residence and at 10 a.m. from Holy Cross church.  The Rev. Fr. Nicholas
will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
