Ferdinand Sippel, Mt. Calvary, Ill Only One Hour. HE LEAVES A LARGE FAMILY. Ferdinand Sippel, a highly esteemed resident of Mt. Calvary, died at his home after an hour and half illness Tuesday afternoon. He was taken suddenly ill at 4 o’clock and his death followed at 5:30. He was 83 years old. Mr. Sippel leaves a large family. Besides his widow there are seven children, Mrs. Fred Bluel, Mt. Calvary, Mrs. Theodore Horth, George and Anton Sippel, of St. Cloud, Charles of Mt. Calvary, John of Plymouth, and Adam of West Allis; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Baus of St. Cloud; two brothers, Vincent, of Michigan, and Charles of Mt. Calvary; forty-three grandchildren; and forty-one great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning from Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary, with burial following in the adjoining cemetery. Fond du Lac Daily Reporter 2/14/1923 DEATH CLAIMS OLD RESIDENT Ferdinand Sippel of Mt. Calvary Passes Away Following Short Illness. Ferdinand Sippel, age 83 years, well known resident of Mt. Calvary passed away suddenly at his home Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Sippel was born in Germany and when a young man came to this country. For a number of years he lived on a farm in the Town of Forest, but since retiring had resided in Mt. Calvary. He is survived by his widow, seven children, Mrs. Fred Bleuel and Charles Sippel of Mt. Calvary, Mrs. Theo. Horsh, Geo. and Anton Sippel of St. Cloud, John of Plymouth and Adam of West Allis; also one sister, Mrs. Lucy Baus of St. Cloud; two brothers, Winston of Michigan and Charles of Mt. Calvary. He also leaves forty-three grandchildren and forty-one great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Holy Cross church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Additional Comments: Ferdinand Sippel was the son of Adam and Barbara Drechsler Sippel of Mt. Calvary WI. He was born on October 18, 1840 in Rückers (north of Fulda), Hesse-Kassel, Germany. He married Gertrude Hahner on April 21, 1861 at St. Mary’s Church, Nassau, Rensselaer County NY. He died on February 13, 1923. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Joseph and Frank; a daughter, Anna Maria; his sisters, Sabina (Mrs. Adam Borns) and Victoria (Mrs. Benedict Kohlman) and two brothers: Herman and Felix.
