Issue - Thursday, July 22, 1937 on Page 1 / Column 2. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Frank Schmuhl, 73, who died at his home in Fairwater Saturday, July 10, 1937. Rev. Bliese officiated at the services and burial was in the cemetery there. The deceased was born in Green Lake county Dec. 10, 1863, the son of John and Minnie Heidel Schmuhl. He married Miss Alwine Werth Nov. 28, 1889, Rev. J. Burkhard officiating. Three children were born to them, all of whom, with the widow, survive him. They are Oscar of Fairwater, Mrs. John O. Laper, Markesan, rfd., and Mrs. Walter Winkler, Waupun. The family moved to Fairwater from the home farm two miles northwest of the village in 1914. There are nine grandchildren; four brothers: Will, John, Ed, and Henry Schmuhl; and one sister, Mrs. Louise Nest, all of Fairwater. Postnote: Frank is a brother to my great-grandfather, Edward. The daughters referred to in the obituary: Mrs. John Laper was born Mamie Schmuhl. Mrs. Walter Winkler was born Arvilla Schmuhl. His wife's given name is also recorded as Alvina. His birthplace is stated as Green Lake county. I have not been able to verify that fact. His parents were married in Kreis Demmin, Mecklenburg in March of 1863 and it is believed they emmigrated to the U.S. shortly after their marriage
