Schommer- Peter Schommer, aged 72 years, a respected resident of the town
of Eden died at 4:30 o'clock this morning.  He leaves his wife and eight
children.  The funeral will be held Thursday morning.


Daily Commonwealth June 22, 1912

The funeral of Peter Schommer was held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at
St. James church, Eden, Rev. J.B. McFarland officiating.  The services were
largely attended, many pioneer friends of the deceased being present.  The
bearers were Timothy Sammons, John Bomaster, Anthony Kahne, George
Baumhardt, Anthony Rehorst and Charles Bomaster.  The remains were interred
at Union cemetery, Campbellsport.  The deceases is survived by a widow,
three daughters, Mrs. Justin Case, of Fond du Lac, the Misses Theresa and
Margaret residing at the family home, and five sons, who are John and
Henry, of Milwaukee, Peter, Mathias and Leo, of Eden.  He also leaves one
sister, Mrs. G. Scherzinger of this city; and two brothers, John of
Chilton, and Rev. H. Schommer, O.M. Cap., of New York City.  There are also
three grandchildren.  The deceased was born June 29, 1839 in Germany and
came to Wisconsin July 4, 1854.
