Boscobel; born in Erie Co., Penn.; at the age of 12 he came with his parents to Grant Co., where he has since resided, coming here in 1846; they are among the oldest settlers in the county. Enlisted in 1862 in Co. C, 20th W. V. I.; served till the end of the war; participated in the battles of Prairie Grove, Ark., Vicksburg, Brownsville, Texas, Yazoo City, Mobile, Ala,. and others; has been to California, and has traveled over most of the Western country; he owns 280 acres of land. Married, in 1866 to Miss Mary Clinger; they have five children - one son and four daughters.
