Boscobel. Born in Baden, Germany, March 28, 1829; came to America in 1853, remaining in Ulster Co., N. Y., about six months; he then came to Grant Co., where he has since lived. He owns 240 acres of land; he has cleared and improved this farm, with a barn costing about $700; his house cost about $600. All of this property he has earned since coming here. Married in 1857, to Miss Elizabeth Shide; she was born in Baden; had six children, three living - one daughter and two sons.
