HAMMEN, farmer and proprietor of the Lancaster mill, which was erected in 1860, Sec. 28; P. O. Lancaster. Born in this county in 1838; settled on his present farm in 1879. Married Myra Moore, a native of New York, and they have four children - Eugene, Jennie, Clara and Charles. Mr. H. enlisted in Co. A, 2d Iowa V. C., in 1861, and resigned in 1862; was Quartermaster of regiment.
