RICHARDS, Deputy Sheriff, Lancaster; is a native of the town of Fennimore, began life as a farmer, following that business until 14 years of age; he then attended school in Boscobel for about four years, and made rapid progress; at the age of 18 years, he was appointed Deputy Sheriff of Grant Co., and now holds the same position for the fifth year, being appointed in 1877.
