PHILLIP BETINGER, was born in Germany in 1832, where he was educated, and 
learned the mason trade came to America in 1850, locating at Galena, III.; 
remaining there six months, came to this county. In 1863, he enlisted in the 2d 
Wisconsin Battery, and served with them until the close of the war, and mustered 
out with them in Milwaukee. His home has been in this county since he first 
came.
