Boscobel. Born in Baden, Germany; came to Ulster Co., N. Y., in 1854; worked there at the stonemason trade two years - the trade he learned in Baden. In 1856, came to Grant Co., where he has since resided. Owns 430 acres of land, which he has improved with a good barn costing about $800, and other improvements. Member of the Presbyterian Church. Married in 1865, to Katherine Brechler; she was born in Baden. They have six children – five sons and one daughter.
