PARSONS, Town Collector, is a native of Plattsburg, Clinton Co., N. Y.; grew up and received his education in that State. In 1852, went to California, and was engaged in mining, mercantile business and teaching, until 1866, when he came to Grant Co. He had held the office of Deputy County Clerk for some years, also Justice of the Peace, and, for the past two years has held the office of Town Collector. In 1844, Mr. Parsons was united in marriage to Miss Delia J. Phelps, a native of Vermont. They have one son, Fred B., living in Denver, Colo.
