Boscobel; born in 1832 in Baden, Germany; in 1853, came to Ulster Co., N.Y., where he remained two years, then came to the town of Marion, Grant Co., where he has since resided. He now owns 120 acres of land; this he has acquired by his industry since coming here. Married, in 1866, to Mary Henkel; she was born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany; they have eight children - four sons and four daughters.
