Boscobel, owns 100 acres of land; also owns 240 acres in Waterstown; was born in North Carolina in 1816; at the age of 24, he went to Missouri and engaged in farming for six years, then returned to Jo Daviess Co., Ill., where he engaged in farming two years; in 1849, he came to this county and located on Blue River, in the town of Castle Rock; two years later, he moved to his present location, where he has lived ever since. Was married in 1840, to Miss. Anna Brown, a native of Kentucky; they had five children; but one son and one daughter are now living.
