She had not been sick, having attended church Thursday afternoon, her death being caused by a stroke of paralysis. Her son Frank called on her Saturday, and unable to find her, forced an entrance. Mrs. Anna Witzig was born in Germany in 1808 and was married to Martin Witzig in 1829. Ten children were born to them, five of which still survive her. They are: Adam of Minnesota, Mrs. John Whitish of Preston, Frank of Fennimore, Joe of Clifton and Mrs. Kate Abrum of Chicago, three being present at the funeral. She came to this country in 1855 in company with her husband and settled in Clifton where she lived until the fall of 1898; she then moved to Fennimore where she purchased a comfortable home. The funeral was held from St. Mary's church, Tuesday, May 29, at 10 o'clock, Father Feld officiating. The remains were interred in the Prairie cemetery. "All who knew her loved her." CARD We wish to thank the many neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us in our late bereavement. --The Family
