John Conley was born in Patch Grove, May 18, 1859, and at the time of his death was 64 years, 4 months and 18 days old. He came with his parents to the Irish Ridge when he was about 5 years old, to a small farm, where his parents, by frugal habits and constant labor, saved enough to purchace more land. The deceased had two sisters and two brothers, all of whom are dead. He left his widow and two sons, Hugh and Clement, surviving him. He led a good, honest and industrious life, was a good husband and father and kind neighbor and highly respected by all who knew him. He served his town as a member of the board of supervisors and died without finishing his second term. The large number of friends and neighbors who attended his funeral showed the esteem, in which he was held as a worthy citizen. A requiem mass was offered, and a very eloquent and instructive sermon by the Rev M. J. Kleinhofer, pastor of St Lawrence O’Toole church. Cards of Thanks The widow and children of the beloved husband and father are very grateful and thank their kind neighbors and friends for many beautiful flowers received.
