The deceased was born Dec, 27, 1832 and was 79 years old at the time of his death. He was a member of the “Iron brigade” during the Civil War, and has served in many important positions during his life. He was for some time a worker in the State Penitentiary at Waupon and was the sheriff of Grant County for two years. He has been a sufferer from paralysis for many years and has been especially feeble during recent months. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2’oclock from the late residence. The local Masonic Order will have entire charge of the services.
