Josephine (Witzig) Whitish

Obituary from the Fennimore Times, Fennimore, Wisconsin, May 13, 1908
 
Mrs. John Whitish, Sr., who had been failing health for a long time, died 
Thursday at her home in this village, aged 76 years, 8 months, 12 days. She was 
one of the early settlers of this section and with her husband lived for many 
years on a farm south of Preston, before moving to Fennimore. Her maiden name 
was Josephine Witzig and she was born in Polish Germany. Besides the aged 
husband, she leaves a large family of grown-up children. The funeral was held 
Saturday from St. Mary's church, Rev. Feld officiating, and called out a very 
large attendance, attesting to the esteem in which she was held by all her 
acquaintances.
