Bennett, of this city, Sunday afternoon. The deceased died suddenly at her home, May 15, of heart disease, at the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 26 days. Mrs. Rhoda Bennett was born in Staffordshire, England, Oct. 19th, 1817, and was married to Thomas Tuckwood in 1839. They lived in England until 1849, when they emigrated to Janesville, Wis. to them were born five children, one daughter and four sons, Mrs. Richard McKinney, of Hancock, Ia., John, Tom and William, of Lancaster, George having died in the late war. Mr. Tuckwood was drowned in Rock River near Janesville in 1850. 1n 1852 she was married to John Bennett and in 1855 moved to Grant County, where her husband died May 1st, 1889. To them were born three sons and one daughter, Joseph, Richard and Ett, of Lancaster, Charley having died when two years old. She was a sister of the deceased Richard Buggins, of Mt. Ida, be being the only relative in this country. She was a kind, loving wife and mother and was always found ready to do for the comfort of those around her. She leaves five sons and two daughters to mourn her loss, besides may relatives and friends. The funeral was held this afternoon from the Mt. Zion church, and was largely attended."
