Obituary: Green County, Wisconsin: Louis DIXON ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ LOCAL FARMER SUCCUMBS TO CARBON MONOXIDE GAS Overcome by carbon monoxide gas from his automobile which he was servicing in his barn six miles northwest of the city, Louis Dixon, 51, was found dead at 11 a.m. last Thursday by his wife who had occasion to go to the barn shortly before 11 a.m. Funeral services were held in the home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. G. C. Saunderson, pastor of the Methodist church here, officiating. Interment was made in the Brooklyn cemetery with the Knights of Pythias conducting the services. The song service was led by Phil Pearsall. Pallbearers, all Knights of Pythias, were George Morrison, Glenn Morrison, Oliver Brown, Charles Murwin, Charles Maas, and Clyde Courtier. Mr. Dixon was born on a farm in Jordan township Nov. 17, 1878, and when a child moved with his parents to a farm near Evansville where he grew to young manhood. He was married Feb. 22, 1899 to Effie Smith to which union one daughter, Jessie was born who died in infancy. Mr. Dixon was a member of Evansville lodge No. 56 Knights of Pythias; Hera Temple No. 235 Knights of Khorassau, Beloit; Friendship Temple No. 9 Pythian Sisters, Evansville; and of the Equitable Fraternal Union assembly 152, Evansville. Besides his wife he is survived by his parents and one sister. One brother preceded him in death.
