Harry Gilligan of Monroe, a resident of this county since 1867, committed
suicide Saturday in the back room of Carl Voght's saloon by drinking
carbolic acid. He was 65 years old and leaves two sons and one daughter. He
had been drinking hard lately, and this is thought to have unsettled his
mind.
