He had been ailing for most two years. A great loss to him was his hearing and not being able to use his limbs, yet he bore it all silently and waited patiently for the Master's call from labor to reward. Mr. Golz was born at Hilzdorf, Provinz, Brandenburg, Neumark, Germany, Sept. 18, 1846. He was united in marriage to Louisa Schalow in 1875 and came to this country in 1893, locating in the town of Brooklyn where he has since resided. In 1897 he was converted and united with the Evangelical Assocation of which he was a loyal member until his death. To him it was an honor to serve his church in any way possible. With unexcelled pride he served as janitor for sixteen successive years. His service will be missed. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, three daughters, Mr. F. Beyer, Mrs. Aug. Krause, Miss Martha Golz, and three sons, William, Elmer, and John and one brother Ferdinand Golz, all of Brooklyn, and one sister in Germany. The funeral was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the German E. A. church in the town of Brooklyn and the interment was in the cemetery of said congregation, Rev. H. J. Kohlhepp officiating. October 5, 1911, Evansville Review, p. 4, col. 2, Evansville, Wisconsin
