KEEHN ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, May 2005 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ OBITUARY August F. Keehn August Ferdinand Keehn was born in Cremzo, Germany, January 27, 1850. He came to the United States in 1872, settling near Albany. He was united in marriage with Miss Theresa Kreuger, who, with one child born to them, preceded him in death. August 14, 1882, he was married to Miss Emma Krueger; this union was blessed with three sons and three daughters, of whom two daughters have passed on to the beyond. They settled on a farm about seven miles west of Evansville, where they lived until a few years ago, when they moved to Evansville and about a year and a half ago to their son, Edwin's, to keep house for him, where Mr. Keehn died March 6, 1917, at the age of sixty-seven years, one month, and nine days, after a siege of asthma for over sixteen years, leaving to mourn his departure his wife, a daughter, Miss Elise; three sons, Walter and Edwin, living near the old homestead, and Theodore, living on the homestead. Funeral services were held in the Friedens Evangelical church Friday at 2 p.m. Of this church Mr. Keehn had been a faithful member for many years, and the large crowd at the church is sufficient evidence that he was highly respected by all, as they found in him a good father, neighbor, citizen and christian. Interment was made at Friedens' cemetery, with the Rev. G. E. Zellmer officiating. G.E.Z. CARD OF THANKS We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to the friends who so kindly extended condolence; also for the beautiful floral offerings sent us during our recent bereavement the passing away of our father, August Keehn.
