FATAL ACCIDENT AT BELLEVILLE

Last Wednesday morning, while Herman Legler and wife, who live on a farm
near BELLEVILLE, were out milking at the barn, some green wood which had
been left in the oven to dry out, began to burn and caused a smoke which
suffocated two small children, who were still in bed, and caused the death
of the baby girl about 10 months old and the boy 4 years old, nearly lost
his life, but was finally resuscitated.
