Mr. Michael North, aged 80 years, and well known in this vicinity, died
December 20th at his home in Monroe. Funeral services were held December
21st.

Mr. North was born in Alsace, France, and at the age of eleven years came
to this country. He lived for many years in New Glarus township and married
Mary Benkert in 1866 who passed away four years ago. He had been in poor
health for the past five months. He leaves three daughters and three sons;
two of the sons, Albert and Michael residing in Evansville.
