Obituary: Green County, Wisconsin: William Melvin REESE ************************************************************************ Submitted by Ruth Ann Montgomery, April 2008 © All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************************ DIED In Brooklyn, Green Co., Wis., on the morning of April 20th, of Scarlet Fever, William Melvin, only child of William and Mary J. Reese, aged 1 year, 5 months and 28 days. "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Our little one is missing From our quiet home tonight, His voice of merry laughter, His footstep quick and light, The little chair is empty, In our lonely cottage home, As round the table gather The parents all alone. His voice has joined the choir, Of the angel song above. His spirit bright and beautiful, Sings of the Savior's love. Oh, may it lead us onward, To our Father's throne of light, Where we may meet our dear one, Robed in garments soft and white. A. May 3, 1877, The Evansville Review, p. 3, col. 4, Evansville, Wisconsin
