Obituary

Death of Green County Resident

Mrs. Mary Chambers Stair, aunt of John V. Stair of this city, died at her
daughter's home in Algona, Iowa, June 21, 1911. She had been in poor health
for some time and the journey was undertaken with the hope of gaining
strength.

Mrs. Stair was born in Jefferson county, Wisconsin, in 1846, and was
married to Henry Stair in 1866, who died in 1901. Since her marriage she
has lived in Green county, near Brodhead, and had a wide circle of
acquaintanceship.

She was an active and an earnest member of the M. E. church of Brodhead and
will be greatly missed in the community in which she resided for nearly
half a century.

Her children were all present at the funeral with but one exception, namely
Louis, Essie, Sidney, H. C., Faith and Nellie. Mamie, who lives in the
northwest not being able to come. There is also one brother, John Chambers
of Monroe, and an unmarried sister in Brodhead.

The funeral was held in Brodhead, Sunday, Mr. J. V. Stair of this city
being present.
