Green or Iowa Co., Wisconsin Obit: Mrs. Nathan Kelly Van Matre SUBJECT: OBIT SUBMITTER: Pat Helyer EMAIL: pathelyer@home.com DATE: Aug 03, 1999 SURNAMES: VAN MATRE Mrs. Nathan Kelly Van Matre Marilda Wiley was born near Cleveland, Ohio 20 March 1835, the daughter of Joseph and Marilda Wiley, She died in Mineral Point, 8 May 1918, aged 84 years. When Marilda was 15 years of age she came with her parents to the section and settled. On 1 October 1857 she was united in marriage with Nathan Kelly Van Matre. Mr. Van Matre died in 1917. Since then Mrs. Van Matre has lived with her daughter Mrs. Charles Allen at whose home she passed away. In the year of her marriage she and her husband were Baptised and entered into the membership of the Christian Church, ever remaining a faithful disciple of the Master. She leaves two sons, Willis of Redmond, Oregon and Morris N. of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Allen, two brothers, William and Charles Wiley of Oregon, Elvin, another son died about two years ago. "Aunt Rilda," as her close friends called her, has gone home. She was a good woman, and a true mother. Funeral services were held from the Charles Allen home on Monday afternoon, Rev A. H.
