Flentje 14 Feb 2001 genealogy@flentje.com Obituary for Lewis Theodore Quade: Lewis Theodore Quade, son of Mr and Mrs Theodore Quade, was born in Manchester, Wisconsin, Green Lake county, on April 6th, 1877. He died unexpectedly at his farm home east of Blue Earth on Monday morning, July 24th, 1939 at the age of 62 years, 3 months and 18 days. The deceased came to Minnesota in the year 1896 and located in Faribault county where he was a resident until the time of his death with the exception of three years spent at Amboy. The last 27 years of his life were spent on his farm east of Blue Earth. On November 12th, 1903, he was united in marriage to Martha Krinke. Rev A H Utzinger of the Immanuel Evangelical church officiated at the ceremony. There were three children born to this union, all of whom are still living. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William and a sister, Bertha. Those of the immediate family who remain to mourn his death are: his widow, his three children, LaRue, Harold and Ruth; and two grandchildren. Other survivors are: one brother, Henry 3 half brothers, Ed, Alex and Clarence; one sister, Mrs Clara Erdman and five half sisters, Mrs Jansen, Mrs Zacharias, Mrs Williams, Mrs Johnson and Miss Irene Quade. All are residents of Wisconsin. The deceased was a man of many friends. For many years he attended and gave financial support to the Salem Evangelical church. In his death, the family and relatives have lost an affectionate father, husband and brother. The community and church have lost a faithful friend and a worthy neighbor. Funeral services were held in the Salem Evangelical church on Friday, July 28, at 2:00 pm with Rev H E Hiller, pastor, officiating.
