Washington and Waukesha counties. Population, 1895—60,639. STEPHAN F. MAYER (Dem.), of West Bend, was born in West Bend, February 1, 1854. He was educated in the common schools and took a commercial course at the university of Notre Dame, Indiana. He has resided all his life at West Bend, where he is engaged in business as a brewer and malster. He was elected county treasurer without opposition in 1886 and in 1888; has been a member of the county board since 1891, and was chairman in 1893, and was elected chairman of the board this year; also a member of the school board of his city. He was elected to the state senate in 1894, without opposition, receiving 6,095 votes.
