The assembly consists of 100 members, who are chosen biennially by districts, and who receive a compensation of $500 for their term of office. The speaker is chosen by the members, and receives $500 for his services. The assembly contains 91 republicans, 8 democrats and 1 fusion. WINNEBAGO COUNTY. Third District. The towns of Algoma, Black Wolf, Nekimi, Nepeuskun, Ornro (including village of Omro), Poygan, Rushford and Utica, and the Third, Sixth, Ninth and Thirteenth wards of the city of Oshkosh. Population in 1895—18,883. FRANK TYLER TUCKER (Rep.), of Omro, in said county, was born in Macon, Lenawee county, Michigan, June 11, 1864; came to Omro, Wisconsin, in 1869; is the son of Dr. E. L. Tucker, lieutenant of Fourth Michigan cavalry, who was killed at Chattanooga, and of Mary F. Tucker, the well-known authoress; received a common and high school education and then attended the Northern Indiana Normal School, from which he graduated in 1866; for one year he was principal of schools at Winneconne and for four years was principal of the high school at Omro; was admitted to the bar in 1888, and intends to make law his profession, was elected to the assembly in 1892 and again in 1896, receiving at the last election 2,810 votes, against 1,587 for his opponent, Geo.
