They fire chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. ST. CROIX COUNTY. Population, 1900 -- 26,830. (District unchanged by apportionment of 1901.) HENRY A. ANDERSON (Rep.), of the village of Baldwin, was born in Norway in 1855 and came to Wisconsin in June, 1873. His education was obtained in private schools and in an academy in Norway and finished at Madison, Wis. He is a lawyer, was postmaster at Baldwin during the Harrison administration, has been chairman of the St. Croix county board and has held numerous other local offices. He was elected to the assembly Nov. 6, 1900, by 3,048 votes, against 2,467 for Peter A. Anderson (Dem.).
