ASSEMBLYMEN.

GEO. H. RAY, Speaker; W. A. NOWELL, Chief Clerk; A. M. ANDERSON,
Sergeant-at-Arms.

The Assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and
receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen
by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as
Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18
Democrats.

TREMPEALEAU COUNTY. Population, 1900 - 23,114. Eugene P. Clark.

EUGENE F. CLARK (Rep.), of Galesville, elected assemblyman for
Trempealeau county Nov. 6, 1900, receiving 3,356, against 1,225 cast
for Iver Elmon (Dem.), is a farmer and also president of the bank at
Galesville. He is a native of Maine and was born Aug. 14, 1850, coming
to Wisconsin with his parents in 1854. He obtained his education in
the common schools, in Gale college, -,it Galesville, and in business
college.   He was elected to the assembly in 1894 and served in the
session of 1895.
