They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. TREMPEALEAU COUNTY. Population, 1900 - 23,114. Eugene P. Clark. (Unchanged by apportionment of 1901.) EUGENE F. CLARK (Rep.), of Galesville, elected assemblyman for Trempealeau county Nov. 6, 1900, receiving 3,356, against 1,225 cast for Iver Elmon (Dem.), is a farmer and also president of the bank at Galesville. He is a native of Maine and was born Aug. 14, 1850, coming to Wisconsin with his parents in 1854. He obtained his education in the common schools, in Gale college, -,it Galesville, and in business college. He was elected to the assembly in 1894 and served in the session of 1895.
