ASSEMBLYMEN.

GEO. H. RAY, Speaker; W. A. NOWELL, Chief Clerk; A. M. ANDERSON,
Sergeant-at-Arms.

The Assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and
receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen
by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as
Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18
Democrats.

WALWORTH COUNTY. First District. The towns of East Troy, Lafayette, La
Grange, Lyons, Spring Prairie, Sugar Creek, Troy     and Whitewater,
and the village of Elkhorn, and the city of Whitewater. Population in
1900-13,634. (Walworth county now one district.)

EVERETT R. DOW (Rep.), of La Grange is farmer born at Palmyra, Wis.,
July 17, 1853, and educated in Palmyra schools.   He has been town
clerk five years chairman of town all(] member of county board, each
four years. He was elected to the assembly in 1900 by 2,345 votes,
against 960 for Oscar Hanson (Dem.), and 136 for George S. Kyle
(Pro.).
