They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. CALUMET COUNTY. Population, 1900 - 17,078. (Unchanged by apportionment of 1901.) ISAAC N. McCOMB (Dem.), of Brillion, was born at Hortonville, Dec. 11, 1850. He obtained his education in the Hortonville schools, In Lawrence University at Appleton and in the Chicago Medical College. He has been a physician tiventy-three years and enjoys a large practice. He has never been a seeker of office, but has been pension examiner and has held the position of jury commissioner. He was elected to the assembly In 1900 by 1,923 votes, against 1,621 for J. W. Baldock (Rep.).
