They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. DODGE COUNTY. First District. The town of Ashippun, Clyman, Emmett, Herman, Hubbard, Hustisford, Lebanon, LeRoy, Lomira, Rubicon, Shields, Theresa, Williamstown, the village of Horicon, the 5th and 6th wards of the city of Watertown, and the city of Mayville. Population, 1900 - 23,356. (Unchanged by apportionment of 1901.) H. R. MOLDENHAUER (Dem.), of Lebanon, Dodge county, Is a merchant in the town in which he was born Oct. 1, 1855, and where he received his education in the district and parochial schools. He grew up on a farm, went into general mercantile business with his father in Lebanon in 1878. In 1888 they engaged in a general butter and cheese business until 1893, when the son purchased the father's share of the business and has since conducted it alone. He is president of the Northwestern Cheesemakers Mutual are Insurance company of Juneau, and was elected to the assembly In 1900 by 3,147 votes to 2,229 for Peter Weber (Rep.).
