They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. MARINETTE COUNTY. Population, 1900-30,822. (Marinette county now two districts. See new apportionment following biographies and preceding Index.) FREDERICK M. PRICE (Rep.), of Peshtigo, elected to the assembly in 1900 by 4,129 votes, against 1,650 for Frank Stock (Dem.), was born in the town of- Peshtigo, Marinette county, Feb. 10, 1858. He is of German parentage, was educated in the public schools and is a farmer. He has been several years a member of the board of supervisors of the town of Grover, also a member of the school board and has been deputy game warden two terms. He operates a large farm and has always taken an active part in all movements for the development of agricultural interests in his county.
