They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. KEWAUNEE COUNTY. Population, 1900-17,212. (Un-changed by apportionment of 1901.) WILLIAM ROGERS (Dem.), of Kewaunee, was born in Gloucester county, New Brunswick, June 12, 1838. He came to Wisconsin in June, 1850, afterwards acquiring education in the schools of Kewaunee county. He has been county clerk of that county the last twelve years and chairman of the town board of the town of Carlton ten years. He was elected a member of the assembly in 1882 and again in 1900, when he received 1,764 to 1,734 votes cast for M. T. Parker.
