Froehlich, Secretary of State 1901. page 764 ASSEMBLYMEN. GEO. H. RAY, Speaker; W. A. NOWELL, Chief Clerk; A. M. ANDERSON, Sergeant-at-Arms. The Assembly consists of 100 members. They fire chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The Speaker Is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as Speaker. The Assembly of 1901 contains 82 Republicans and 18 Democrats. SHEBOYGAN - Second District. The towns of Holland, Herman, Mosel, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls and Wilson., and the village of Sheboygan Falls, and the 6th and 7th wards of the city of Sheboygan. Population in 1900 - 16,681. (Changed. Sheboygan county is now two districts.) GEORGE SPRATT (Rep.), of Sheboygan Falls, was born in Boston, England, June 30, 1844, and came to Wisconsin in 1851, settling in Sheboygan County. He obtained a common school education, learned the trade of a carpenter and followed contracting and building until 1874, when he engaged in manufacturing, and is still engaged in that business. He served in the war of the Rebellion as commissary of Company F, Forty- eighth Wisconsin regiment, and has occupied numerous offices in town and village governments. He was elected to the assembly in 1886 and served as chairman of the Committee on Enrolled Bills. He was elected to the assembly again in 1900 by 1,736 votes, against 1, 462 cast for H. S. Klemms (Dem.), and 36 for L. F. Muir (Soc. Dem.).
