ASSEMBLYMEN. IRVINE L. LENROOT, Speaker; C. 0. MARSH, Chief Clerk; A. M. Anderson, Sergeant-at-Arms. The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1003 contains 75 republicans and 25 democrats. EAU CLAIRE COUNTY. Second District. The towns of Bridge Creek, Brunswick, Clear Creek, Drammen, Fairchild, Lincoln, Luddington, Otter Creek, Pleasant Valley, Union and Washington, the village of Fairchild, the 4th and 7th wards of the city of Eau Claire, and the city of Augusta. Population, 1900—15,902. IRA B. BRADFORD (Rep.), was born in the town of Fulton, Rock county, Wis., June 24, 1851. The same year he went to New Hampshire, the former home of his parents; here he received a common school and academic education. Later he read law in that state and Pennsylvania. In 1873 he returned to this state and was admitted to the bar at Monroe, Wis., in March, and took up his residence at Augusta, where he has continued to reside. In 1875 he established what is now known as the Augusta State Bank of which he is the president. He was a member of the assembly in 1880 and again in 1881, at the latter session of which he served as speaker. In 1885 he was elected the first mayor of the city of Augusta; re-elected member of assembly in 1902, receiving 1,354 votes against 590 for Wm. Leidigar (Dem.).
