ASSEMBLYMEN. IRVINE L. LENROOT, Speaker; C. 0. MARSH, Chief Clerk; A. M. Anderson, Sergeant-at-Arms. The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1003 contains 75 republicans and 25 democrats. CHIPPEWA COUNTY. First District. The towns of Edson, LaFayette, Sigel, Tildon and Wheaton, the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, ninth, and tenth wards of the city of Chippewa Falls, the city of Stanley, and the villages of Boyd and Cadott. Population, 1900—15,676. PATRICK J. COSGROVE (Rep.) was born at Buckingham in the province of Quebec, Canada, March 2, 1841. Came to the United States and located at Eau Claire in '66, where he engaged in lumbering. He has been associated with various great lumber manufacturing concerns of the Chippewa Valley. He was elected sheriff of Eau Claire county in 1884. His present home is Stanley, which city He has represented for five years on the county board of Chippewa county; he is at present a member of the board of trustees for the Chippewa county insane asylum. His present business is real estate brokerage. He was elected to the assembly on November 4, 1902, receiving 1,470 votes against 1,247 received by Levi Martin (Dem.) and 65 by Cummins (Pro.).
