They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1003 contains 75 republicans and 25 democrats. BARRON COUNTY. One District. Population, 1900—23,677. HENRY C. DOOLITTLE (Rep.) was born in Princeton, Bureau county, I11nois, July 15, 1850; was educated in the Princeton, Illinois, public schools; came to Wisconsin in 1887, and settled at Cumberland, where he has resided ever since; was alderman of the city of Cumberland in 1888-1889; justice of the peace, 1890-1902; supervisor for the last five years; taught school ten years prior to 1887; is now in the meat business; was elected member of assembly In 1902, receiving 1,708 votes against 740 for Peter H.
