They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their service during the term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1003 contains 75 republicans and 25 democrats. MILWAUKEE COUNTY. Second District. The 2d and 6th wards of the city of Milwaukee. Population, 1900—23,580. CORNELIUS A. SILLER (Rep.), was born in Milwaukee, July 18, 1871; was educated in the public and high schools of Milwaukee and graduated from the law department of the State University in 1899. Was elected member of assembly in 1902, receiving 2,128 votes against 1,705 for Edward Fueger (Dem.), 896 for Nicholas Schwinn (Soc. Dem.), and 39 for Michael Gross (Ind.).
