SHAFFER, Chief Clerk; W. S. IRVINE, Sergeant-at-Arms. The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and receive $500 for their services during their term. The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1907 contains 76 republicans, 19 democrats, and 5 social democrats. Milwaukee County. (p. 1161) Seventh District. The towns of Franklin, Greenfield and Wauwatosa, and the city of Wauwatosa. Population, 1900 - 20,646. ELMER E. CAIN (Rep.) was born in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee county, Feb. 8th, 1881. He received his education at the Wauwatosa high school, Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin. He entered the produce commission brokerage business in the city of Milwaukee. Since arriving at his majority he has taken an interest in public matters and last year was elected local assessor. He was elected member of assembly in 1906, receiving 2,103 votes against 576 for Carl J. Blunarr (Soc. Dem.) and 97 votes for Winfred B. Cox (Pro.).
