The speaker is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services as speaker. The assembly of 1907 contains 76 republicans, 19 democrats, and 5 social democrats. Milwaukee County. (p. 1162) Tenth District. The 10th ward of the city of Milwaukee. Population, 1900 - 17,024. HERMAN EMIL GEORGI (Rep.) was born June 16th, 1870 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Was educated in the public and high schools of said city, taught school and attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating therefrom in June, 1891. Has since practiced law in the city of Milwaukee. Was elected to assembly in 1906, receiving 1,221 votes against 1,004 for George Mensing (Soc. Dem.).
