HERMAN L. KERN, Speaker; C. E. SHAFFER, Chief Clerk; W. S. IRVINE,
Sergeant-at-Arms.

The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially and
receive $500 for their services during their term. The speaker is
chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for his services
as speaker. The assembly of 1907 contains 76 republicans, 19
democrats, and 5 social democrats.

Milwaukee County. (p. 1164) Fifteenth District. The 21st ward of the
city of Milwaukee, the towns of Granville and Milwaukee, and the
villages of East Milwaukee, North Milwaukee and Whitefish Bay.
Population, 1900 - 20,613.

JACOB LUY (Rep.) was born Oct. 7th, 1855 in the town of Milwaukee of
which he is still a resident. He has been a carpenter contractor for
the past 25 years in which business he is still engaged. He was
elected side-supervisor of his town in 1892 and served in that
capacity until 1897. Was chairman of his town and represented the town
of Milwaukee in the county board of supervisors from 1900 to 1906. Was
elected to the assembly from his district in 1906, receiving 1,521
votes against 1,302 for Chas. B. Whitnails (Soc. Dem.).
