HARRY SANGER RICHARDS, Dean of the College of Law. Born in Osceola,
Clark county, Iowa, November 20, 1868. Attended the public schools;
graduated from the Academic Department of Parson College, Fairfield,
Iowa, in 1888; graduated from the College of Liberal Arts of the State
University of Iowa, in 1892, with the degree of Bachelor of
Philosophy; graduated from the Law School of Harvard University in
1895, with the degree Bachelor of Laws; served a[s] clerk in the
office of Horatio D. Wood during the year 1896; located for the
practice of law at Ottumwa, Iowa, in 1897; was elected Professor of
Law in the Law Department of the State University of Iowa in 1898; was
elected Dean of the College of Law, University of Wisconsin, in June,
1903. Was granted the degree of Doctor of Laws by the State University
of Iowa in June, 1904. Member of Phi Beta Kappa and legal fraternity,
Phi Delta Phi. Member of the American Bar Association and of the
Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools. Read
various papers before the American Bar Association and the Association
of American Law Schools.
