WEISSE (Dem.) was born in Sheboygan Falls, Oct. 21, 1865 received his education in the parochial and high schools of his native City) entered his father's tannery in 1830 and became a partner in the firm of Chas. S. Weisse & Co., tanners and furriers, in 1838; was elected president of the village of Sheboygan Falls in 1893 and reelected for three successive terms; served three years as treasurer of school board of Sheboygan Falls; chosen as a delegate-at-large to the Democratic national convention at St. Louis, in 1904; member of the campaign committee of the national Democratic congressional committee, 1906; was elected to the 58th congress in 1902, to the 59th congress in 1904; 60th congress in 1906, and re-elected to the 61st congress in 1908 by a plurality of 7,133, receiving 23,317 votes against 16,184 for George Spratt (Rep.), and 836 for Edward C.
