STATE OFFICERS GOVERNOR JOHN J. BLAINE . (Rep.), was born May 4, 1875 on a farm in the town of Wingville, Grant County, Wisconsin; attended common school and was graduated, from Montfort high school, Montfort, Wisconsin; afterwards attended Northern Indiana University at Valparaiso, Indiana, and was graduated from the law department there of on June. 3, 1896. He practiced law in Montfort, Wisconsin, one year, after which he removed to Boscobel, Wisconsin, where he has since practiced law. He served as mayor of Boscobel four terms and member of county board of supervisors of Grant county four years. He was elected to the state senate in 1908 and served in the sessions for 1909 and 1911, but was not a candidate for reelection. In 1912 he was alternate delegate to the republican national convention at Chicago, and in 1916 a delegate to the republican national convention at Chicago. In 1918 he was elected attorney general. In 1920 he was elected a delegate at large to the republican national convention at Chicago, and at the November election 1920 he was elected to the office of Governor on the republican ticket, and reelected November 7, 1922.
